Sugarland Run residents, the first town hall discussion on updating the Association’s governing documents will be held Tuesday, May 11, 2010. This is a great opportunity for all homeowners to participate in a very worthwhile process for our community.
As many of you know, our documents have not been changed in almost forty years. And in those almost forty years many of the provisions in our documents have become outdated. Some provisions may need to be revised or reworked, some eliminated completely, and then some new ones added. State laws have also had an impact on our community.
The town hall discussion will be an informal gathering and the continuation to the article posted in the SRHOA newsletter. Light (healthy) refreshments are planned.
As you read through the documents prior to the town hall discussion, ask yourself what you would like to see added, changed or removed, with an eye toward having a document that works for our community now and well into the future. Write them down and bring them with you on Tuesday May 11, 2010.
As we prepare to celebrate the community’s fortieth birthday next year this is a great opportunity to include a long overdue revision of the Association’s documents in the celebration as well.
